Erik
smiles triumphantly. He knows he has you under his spell. Things happen
suddenly, from there, and the next thing you know you are sitting on a
Victorian style chair and Michael and Tatiana are nowhere to be seen. Your
heart starts to beat faster. He hasn't hurt Michael, has he?
Then you scold yourself. How can you show him love if you can't
give him the benefit of the doubt? Michael's all right. You're sure. Right?
Erik seems somewhat calmer as he watches you from his throne
through half-closed eyes. You don't know what to do or say. You certainly
don't want to anger him, so you sit there. He soon becomes bored and gets
up. Your heart beat quickens as he comes close. You begin to chatter out
of nervousness and soon you are asking about Michael.
Not the brightest idea you've ever had. Erik's demeanor changes
again. You've come to realize that his moods change as suddenly as the
weather. You must be careful.
"It's no concern of yours," he grounds out. "You'll be wise to
forget about him."
But you can't. And you have to ask again. Erik is standing with his
back to you when he abruptly spins around.
He smiles slightly. "Do you really want to know where he is?
Or wouldn't you much rather hear my life's work? Perhaps we could sing
a duet or two?"
That's an enticing offer. You know that Christine is the only
other person who has heard or sang his masterpiece. The choice is yours.
If you insist on knowing what happened to Michael, go to #37. If you want to hear Don Juan Triumphant, follow Erik to #38.
